At Plectics Laboratories, we approach science from two directions at once: forward toward new discoveries, and backward toward foundational discoveries from the past. Our events are built on this philosophy. Through both recurring series and standalone conferences, we bring researchers together to forge new connections and explore the history of science, revealing the stories behind key breakthroughs.
The Interdisciplinary Colloquium annually convenes experts from a spectrum of scientific fields in a unique forum for collaboration. Each colloquium explores underexamined topics and invites speakers to discuss emerging ideas and techniques in a way that bridges disciplines. Our aim is to catalyze a cross-pollination of ideas and foster partnerships that push the boundaries of conventional research paradigms.
Our “Perspectives in…” series offers a window into the histories and methodologies that led to landmark scientific achievements. Prominent figures such as Shing-Tung Yau and Stephen Adler have shared reflections on their contributions, recounting original motivations and breakthrough moments. Series include Perspectives in Mathematics and Perspectives in Theoretical Physics, with additional series planned.
Our events are hosted online, making them accessible to a global audience. Lectures are streamed via Zoom, with links provided via our mailing list.
Consult the event schedule for information on both past and forthcoming events, including session dates, topics, featured speakers, and corresponding abstracts, slides, and other supplementary materials.
