We request a $35 fee. If there are financial difficulties, please contact to a coach or a parent organizer.
Yes. MathCounts expects all registering members to eventually pay the fee, as it is used to cover costs of contest registration, workbooks and other learning materials, and awards and other treats. This club can be expensive to run! This one-time fee is meant to cover these expenses for the whole year.
All payments must be submitted alongside a MathCounts Participation Contract. You can get a copy here.
1. Cash or Check
We prefer check for payment. To make organization and logistics easier on our coaches, checks must include the following:
You may only pay with cash if the cash is submitted in an envelope with the above information written on the outside in clear print. Again, don't turn in money without the corresponding Participation Contract.
2. NO online payment :(
We get this question a lot: "Can we pay online?" Unfortunately, no.
There are a number of reasons why we couldn't make this work, but regardless, we want you to turn in your Participation Contract along with your money anyway.
Registration for 2019-2020 can be found under "How do I sign up?" on our home page.
Yes, they do! Registration must be renewed each year.
Yep! Each individual student should sign up separately, even if they are siblings. (This means separate payments, too.)
Exactly what it says! If students have food allergies or particular classroom needs, this is how you let us know. We coaches want to make sure we're aware of important things like these so that no students are harmed or wronged under our care.
It's a formal document stating that both the parent and the student agree to follow the rules of the club. The rules are pretty simple: respect the coaches, the other students, and the classroom, don't be rowdy, don't break stuff, etc. If students violate the contract, it can have serious consequences for our integrity as as club. Many of these rules are in place for the safety of the club and the students!

ge-seeker, puzzle-solver, or lover of learning, you'll have a great time!
MathCounts is a competition and club based program that introduces competition-level math to Middle School students. In many cases, MathCounts helps to teach problem-solving techniques, provide enrichment to classroom math, and allow application with math skills to every day life.
MathCounts bolsters mental math, critical thinking, and problem solving in its students. We hope to unlock a deep interests or passions in mathematics.
Students will be happy to know that MathCounts problems are often like challenging mind games -- and the greater the challenge, the greater the reward.
For more in-depth explanation of MathCounts, visit mathcounts.org.
To start, take a look at our Resources page -- it is an entire section of materials to help you improve your competitive math skills.
The key is to practice, practice, practice. You can ask the coaches for practice material and help. Never be afraid to ask questions about things you do not understand.
As a parent volunteer, you can help maintain discipline in the class. Occasionally, you might be asked to help grade papers. Most importantly, the district requires that we have a parent volunteer in each classroom at all times, so we literally cannot run without your help. Please sign up here.
If you have more questions, please take a look at our informational powerpoint.
It is the same powerpoint that we use at the parent information night.
