I previously forgot to activate my system on psn before downloading Rebug 4.84.2 REX. PSN requires FW 4.89, which is impossible to spoof using SEN Enabler. I've just upgraded to Evilnat 4.89.3, and was hoping to activate my system to generate act.dat. I need it in order to use ReActPSN to install .rap files. After activating, I was planning to downgrade back to Rebug REX.

Hello, this is a PSA. As of May 10th, 2022, PS3 users are now forced to use a form of 2-step verification to log into their PSN accounts after the latest system software update (4.89). I've gone to the website, set up a password and this screen STILL pops up and won't let me sign into my PSN account on my PS3. Just a warning to all PS3 users. UPDATE THE SYSTEM SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Hi everyone. I have a ps3 fat boy which was smoothly runnking cfw 4.89 evilnat and cobra. I booted him up and tried to log into the ps3 network, and stupidly updated to OFW 4.90. Console went through the update process, rebooted and now is not outputting video signal. I tried the two beep step to try and reset the video output selection on the ps3. System boots, tv recognizes something is connected to the HDMI port, but only a black backlit screen is there, no start up chime either. Everything else seems to work.. Yellow HD light flashes a few times. Controller pairs no problem. Pressing controller buttons does nothing. I tried booting with the original unmodified hard drive, same result. Will try with no HD and/or another HDMI cord/port tomorrow. Don't have the av cables but might consider purchasing them. Ps3 power button and lights seem to be responding as usual. I'm thinking a bored update, aka stupid user error :-( Any other ideas?

I installed PS3HEN for the 4.89 firmware mainly because when I did decide to hack the system my firmware was stuck on 4.89, however after installing HEN its been just unreliable, at times it works flawlessly and loads games and applications fine, and other times it basically causes the whole screen to go black whenever a application is launched, causing me to hard reboot, this happens obviously after I enabled HEN. Is this a common problem with HEN or is my firmware just weird?

So, I had a PS3 stuck on HFW 4.86 and I made the mistake of updating it to 4.89.... Now a lot of homebrews crash on startup and even rebooting to recovery mode asks for a System over 4.89, even if the Homebrew Tools section says the minimum downgradable version is 3.65 (I guess. It's 3.6 something).

I have a super-slim running 4.89 and I'm trying to install 4.89.1 HFW so I can get HEN running. However, every time I try and use System Update to get the HFW to install off the USB, it says that there's "No applicable update data was found". 006ab0faaa
