GULF FISHING (out to 9 miles or state waters)

Depending on the time of year and season, you can catch Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Mingo Snapper, Almaco Jack, Amberjack, Pompano, Red Snapper, Trigger, Blacktip Shark, reef sharks, and many others. You’ll use only high-end tackle as well as multiple types of fishing techniques. The crew specializes in bottom fishing but you can also troll as well as experience free lining. Typical trips will fish several to many reefs.  The charter length determines the number of reefs we will fish as well as the availability of live bait.  Live bait is premium for certain species of fish and is used on charters of 5 hours or better.  Kids are welcome to come aboard and the crew will enjoy helping them learn to fish. The captain will ensure that you keep all the fish allowed by the FWC. He’s generous with the length of the charter and looks forward to helping you build the best experience ever.

When you join the crew for a trip, the Captain will provide drinking water, gear, licenses, as well as clean your catch. You may bring snacks, drinks, hats, sunglasses, sun screen, and cameras.  Fish with Play N Hooky Charters, and let us make your trip to the  Florida Emerald Coast special.

Our trips will go up to 9 miles offshore. Restrictions on harvesting fish are in place by the FWC and in season fish are limited by these guidelines found on the FWC website:  https://myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/  Your fishing license is part of the fee. 

Per Coast Guard requirement, all passengers must weigh at least 33 lbs for successful use of the safety gear on board.

3 or 4 Hour Trip 

Families, fish, and fun are the focus on this trip. Quantity over quality size fish is the mission, with lots of poles bending frequently. Fishing education is a key feature of these 4 hours on the water. The captain always makes time to visit dolphin friends on the way, as well as provide lots of explanations of the technology used to locate fish and navigate.  Each 3 or 4 hour morning trip is great for kids. Short run time and fishing nearshore reefs. Great action with mostly smaller fish with a lot of catch and release. If you are looking to take a lot of keepers back, we highly recommend one of the longer trips we offer (6 or 8 hours).  This trip includes 30-40 minutes of dolphins up close!

Our 5-8 hour trips and longer use live bait and fish a greater number of reefs.  

All trips must be booked with the Captain via a phone call.  He will want to get your preferences for your charter and make sure we can meet your expectations for a fantastic trip.  You are welcome to call and ask questions as well.  

Fish and Fun Trips (Crab Island AND Fishing in one trip) can be accomplished in any trip.  Request a quote for custom trips available as well by request.

Dolphin and Harbor Tours Rates

3 Hours $ 450.00 for up to 6 people 

Gratuity is customary All payments other than cash will be assessed a 3% transaction fee.

Fishing trips depart at 7:00-9:00 am as determined by Captain and are limited to 6 passengers maximum.

All charters are limited up to 6 passengers, however, only 4 passengers may fish at any given time to avoid tangled lines.

We charter a 26 foot Sea Hunt Gamefish. Our boat includes abundant bow seating, bathroom facilities, fresh water washdown, a side entry tuna door, misting system for hot days, a large center console for plenty of shade.  The boat is powered by twin Yamaha 150s, making it a quick trip from the Gulf to port.  Our boat is equipped with all USCG safety gear, fresh water spray and with Garmin electronics, including radar, sonar, chart plotter, and G3 software. The boat has twin livewells, cushioned seating, and gull wings to withstand sea spray and wind to keep the passengers completely dry. The boat’s also deploys a GPS spot lock trolling motor, a multimedia system, and an ice-box.  We provide bottled water, lots of memorable pictures and loads of fun.  Captain Glenn is a USCG licensed captain, with years of experience on the Destin waters and has first aid and AED training.  

Cancellation Policy:  

Customers may cancel at least 72 hours prior to their scheduled trip date and time to receive a full refund less a $25.00 service fee, or $8.00 or service fee if canceled prior to 7 days. Cancellations inside the 72 hour period will not be eligible for a refund. If weather is unfavorable and the Captain calls off the trip or cancels due to other factors, the trip may be rescheduled for a later time/date or a full refund will be issued. Customer no-shows will not be refunded. Customers may make changes to the reservation without any fees as long as it's outside the 72 hour cancellation period. Once you have left the dock on your trip there is NO refund or rain check.
