This Privacy Policy explains what information Murder Monkey (the "Game") collects when you play it on Meta Horizon (Meta Quest), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Game, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
From Meta
When you launch the Game, Meta provides us with:
- Meta user ID (an app-scoped identifier unique to our Game)
- Meta user profile information, such as your username / display name and, if you permit it, your avatar or profile picture
We do not receive your Meta password, payment details, or real name unless it is part of your public profile.
From our backend services
- PlayFab (Microsoft): We use PlayFab for player accounts and game data. PlayFab stores your PlayFab ID (linked to your Meta user ID), display name, and game data such as progress, stats, inventory, and settings. PlayFab may also process technical data such as your IP address and device type.
- Epic Online Services (EOS): We use EOS for multiplayer networking (matchmaking, lobbies, and connections between players). EOS assigns a Product User ID and processes technical data such as your IP address and connection information needed to connect you to other players.
Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information. Voice chat, where available, is transmitted in real time to other players in your session and is not recorded or stored by us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Identify you and sign you in to the Game
- Show your username or display name to other players
- Save and restore your progress and settings
- Match you with other players and run multiplayer sessions
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Game, and prevent cheating, abuse, and fraud
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising.
3. Information Visible to Other Players
Your display name (and avatar, if applicable) is visible to other players in your sessions. Other players in your session may also be able to technically see your IP address, depending on how the connection is made (for example, peer-to-peer networking).
4. Sharing Your Information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Game, acting on our behalf:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the safety of others.
5. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Game. If you request deletion (see Section 6), we will delete your PlayFab data and associated records within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal or security reasons.
6. Your Choices and Rights

- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correct your data
- Request deletion of your data
Include your Meta username so we can find your account. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. You can also manage app permissions and data in your Meta account settings.
7. Children's Privacy
The Game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use the security features of PlayFab, EOS, and Meta to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than where you live.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be noted on our store page or in the Game.
