Updates

Over the past couple of months, we've had the chance to play using sets without latin numbers or letters. It's tricky, but actually an interesting challenge. I'm pretty confident now with the winds, but of course the characters suit is the hardest. I have a large tile set that I bought a few years back off Marketplace, that I'd not used because it didn't have latin numbers on it. And while it's also a very heavy set, I do love the size of the tiles So I think Mum and I are now ready to graduate to using this set more often. I'll be keeping the cheat sheet beside us for a long while yet I reckon. 

I have a new set. It's a small travel set from Taiwan. I bought it off Marketplace from a woman whose family were living in Taiwan. It's so light and tiny. I don't know if I'll ever use it as the tiles are tiny, and I'm inclined to use larger pieces these days. The tiles are still in plastic. But it's so gorgeous and I love her. 

I didn't win, but I had one of the best evenings of Mahjong ever. Great opponents, fabulous atmostphere. I feel like these months of regular playing AND studying is paying off.
