Dragon Quest 1+2 SNES

Dragon Quest 1+2 remake for SNES. The first two games, but in 16-bit glory.

Link: https://www.romhacking.net/games/291/

Dragon Quest 3 SNES

Dragon Quest 3 remake for SNES. Likely the current definitive version. Pachisi tracks and animated monster sprites. New 2021 bug fixes!!!

Link: https://www.romhacking.net/translations/6398/

Dragon Quest 5 SNES

The original Dragon Quest V. Not as good as future remakes. You can only have 3 party members in battle at one time. Only 2 bride choices, but it's the original, worth a play!

Link: https://www.romhacking.net/games/293/

Dragon Quest 5 PS2

The first DQV remake. Super graphics!

Link: http://www.dqtranslations.com/projects/dq5r

Dragon Quest 6 SNES

The original Dragon Quest 6 for SNES. Animated monster sprites. Arguably a bit superior due to the number of monsters you can recruit compared to the DS remake, but if you're going for human party members, feel free to do either. This is maybe 99% done, but it's done and fully playable.

Dragon Quest X

Dragon Quest X, the still only mainline game that didn't come West. It's an MMO with 6 full "versions" basically storylines, and fans have translated a couple versions and have provided an overlay to machine translate even further. This is a work in progress late in 2022, but still quite useful.

Torkeko Mystery Dungeon SNES

AKA Torneko no Daibouken: Fushigi no Dungeon. This is the title that started the entire "Mystery Dungeon" game series, although it comes on the heels of many previous roguelikes & roguelites throughout the years.

Dai no Diabouken Manga

It is one of the Weekly Shōnen Jump’s best-selling manga series of all time, with 50 million tankōbon volumes copies sold. DQM: Caravan Heart

This GBA title stars a young DQ7 Kiefer. This is quite the departure from the rest of the DQM games both before and after, but if you can push through the first couple hours, there's a TON of adventuring and collecting to do.

DQM: Terry's Wonderland

This 3DS remake of the original Dragon Quest Monsters is absolutely amazing. It adds a pretty big post-game in a really neat monster city. Different-sized monsters and so so many more than the original. It looks beautiful!
