This innovative and exciting masters programme is designed to support and develop professional practice for anyone wishing to create, further develop and secure employment opportunities in the music industry. The curriculum is carefully designed to prepare students for the next stage of their careers, to challenge current music business models, to innovate and to allow practitioners to be in control of their own career aspirations.

The programme expects to attract entrants who have a background in the subject or a related subject area, acquired through previous study (a bachelor's degree with honours or equivalent) and entrants who have acquired experience through work or other means that enables staff responsible for admissions to be confident of the candidate's ability to succeed in the programme.

The programme runs in partnership with the University of Chichester and Platform One College of Music. Platform One is a not for profit, independent music college, established in 1999 with the clear aim of providing high quality, contemporary music education. Platform One has been working with the University of Chichester since 2004 and has a meaningful working relationship with the university as a whole.

A significant part of Platform One’s ethos is to create and nurture professionals across all aspects of the music industry, developing their prospect of a sustainable career within the ever-evolving music industry. This postgraduate masters programme reflects this goal throughout its entirety. There are strong links and significant working relationships with the music industry underpinning the diverse and carefully crafted curriculum.
