If you want maximum wireless range, military-grade security for sensitive calls, and a dedicated desk phone experience, choose Plantronics Poly Savi 7320-M; if you need ultra-lightweight comfort, Bluetooth flexibility for mobile commuting, and hybrid active noise cancellation to block office chaos, choose Jabra Evolve2.
• Plantronics Poly Savi 7320-M: Its biggest strength is the robust DECT connection offering up to 580 feet of line-of-sight range with FIPS 140-2 encryption, making it ideal for secure environments. The trade-off is its heavier weight (16 ounces) and lack of Bluetooth, which limits portability for travelers.
• Jabra Evolve2: It shines with its featherlight design (4.8 ounces), Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and folding mechanism that fits easily into a bag for commuters. The compromise is a shorter effective range compared to DECT and a focus on general office noise rather than enterprise-level data security.
• Best for: Choose the Plantronics Poly Savi 7320-M for stationary professionals in finance or government who prioritize call privacy and long-range freedom. Choose the Jabra Evolve2 for commuters, hybrid workers, or those who need a headset that moves with them via Bluetooth and blocks ambient noise effectively.
The Plantronics Poly Savi 7320-M is engineered for a specific type of professional environment where security and reliability are non-negotiable. This isn't just a headset; it is a DECT-based system designed to meet the highest levels of enterprise security expectations. If your work involves handling sensitive financial data, medical records, or government communications, this device is built to protect you. It utilizes 256-bit AES encryption, meeting the strictest standards like FIPS 140-2 listed features. This level of protection is often required in industries where standard Bluetooth technology is simply banned due to potential vulnerabilities.
Wireless freedom is another pillar of this headset's design, but it achieves it differently than consumer-grade devices. With a line-of-sight range of up to 580 feet (180 meters), you can move freely across large open offices or even step outside without losing your connection. This range is supported by adaptive power control, which intelligently limits the radio signal to the area you actually occupy, reducing interference and maximizing user density. You get up to 13 hours of talk time on a single charge, ensuring that a full day of back-to-back meetings won't leave you tethered to a charging station. The audio quality relies on the latest DECT compression techniques, delivering crystal clear sound without impacting how many users can share the same network frequency.

However, this headset demands a specific workflow. It lacks Bluetooth, meaning it cannot pair directly with your smartphone for personal calls or music while commuting. It is optimized for desk phones, specifically over 800 models including Poly's own range, and works seamlessly with Microsoft Teams softphones. The physical build reflects its serious intent: it weighs 16 ounces and features an over-ear design with plastic enclosures. While durable and professional, it is not designed to be shoved into a pocket or worn during a jog. If you are a remote worker who needs to hop from a laptop to a phone while walking around the house, or a commuter looking for crystal clear calls gaming headset style versatility on the go, this unit might feel too rigid and heavy. But for someone anchored to a desk who needs absolute privacy and long-range stability, the Poly Savi 7320-M is a powerhouse.
The Jabra Evolve2 takes a completely different approach, prioritizing mobility, comfort, and adaptability for the modern, mobile workforce. This headset is defined by its lightweight construction, weighing only 4.8 ounces, which makes it nearly unnoticeable during long conference calls. The earcups feature super-soft foam cushions and flexible rotating hinges that eliminate the clamping force often found in bulkier headsets. This design philosophy suggests a product built for all-day wear, whether you are sitting in a quiet home office or navigating a bustling, noisy co-working space.
Its standout feature for the daily traveler is the Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Unlike the DECT-only limitation of the Poly, the Evolve2 connects wirelessly to your computer via USB dongle or directly via Bluetooth to your phone. This allows you to take calls while walking through an airport terminal or working from a coffee shop. The ability to fold the earcups at the twist of a hinge means the headset collapses into a compact shape that fits easily into a small pouch. For anyone looking for bluetooth in ear headphones for commuting alternatives that offer superior audio fidelity and noise isolation, this form factor is unmatched. It also includes Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which actively blocks out background distractions, helping you maintain focus when the environment gets loud.
The Evolve2 is certified for major platforms like Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, ensuring seamless integration regardless of your software choice. However, this flexibility comes with some trade-offs. The battery life and range are generally tied to Bluetooth capabilities, which typically have a shorter effective radius than the 580-foot reach of the Poly's DECT system. Furthermore, while it offers excellent noise cancellation for the user, it does not provide the military-grade encryption protocols required for highly classified work. If your job requires you to carry your headset everywhere, switch between devices constantly, or value comfort above all else, the Jabra Evolve2 is the superior choice. It is the ideal companion for the professional who refuses to be tethered to a desk.

After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases, I would buy the Jabra Evolve2 for my own daily needs. The world of work has shifted toward mobility, and the ability to fold the headset, connect via Bluetooth, and wear it comfortably for hours makes it the more practical tool for the modern commuter. While the Poly Savi 7320-M is an incredible piece of engineering for secure, stationary operations, the Jabra's flexibility aligns better with a lifestyle that moves between home, office, and transit. For commuting, the Jabra Evolve2 offers the right balance of noise cancellation and portability that the Poly simply cannot match due to its DECT limitations.
Neither model lists an IPX rating for waterproofing in their specifications, so they are not designed as ipx7 waterproof headband headphones for commuting. They are built for indoor office environments and general travel, not rain or water exposure.
The Jabra Evolve2 features Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation, which is generally more effective at blocking ambient office noise for the wearer compared to the Poly's noise-canceling microphone technology, which focuses primarily on isolating your voice from background noise.
Yes, the Jabra Evolve2 supports Bluetooth 5.2, allowing direct pairing with smartphones for calls and media. The Plantronics Poly Savi 7320-M lacks Bluetooth entirely, so it cannot connect directly to a phone without a separate adapter.
Yes, both the Plantronics Poly Savi 7320-M and the Jabra Evolve2 are officially certified for Microsoft Teams, ensuring compatibility with Teams calls, notifications, and controls.
