This is Me

Hello! My name is Rachel, and I am a stay at home, homesteading enthusiast. I am the proud mother of 2 boys who make my life exciting and busy. I am also married to a wonderful, hard-working man who brings joy to my life every day. We moved here about 3 years ago from Texas and brought our 10 chickens and 3 ducks with us on the journey. We own 20 acres of land where love farming fruits and vegetables, chickens, and ducks.  I am growing crops using companion planting, with flowers to help attract the helpful insects and deter the harmful ones.

It’s really amazing out here at all times of the day. The forest trees are gorgeous. One of my favorite parts is that there are always animals around, either chickens and ducks, farm cats, farm dogs, or our newest editions foster dogs. I also love being outdoors here at night and seeing the blanket of stars overhead and occasionally catching the Northern Lights.  There are so many stars, and they are so bright. You can even see the Milky Way on some nights when the moon is in the southern sky.
