Arsheed H. Sheikh is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University working in the field of plant microbe interactions. His research focuses on how microbial signals and metabolism regulate RNA modifications, epigenetic processes, and nutrient signaling to shape plant immunity and stress adaptation. By integrating molecular biology, genetics, and systems approaches, his lab aims to develop sustainable strategies to improve crop resilience and nutrient use efficiency. During his PhD he worked at the National Institute for Plant Genome Research in New Delhi, and Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry, Halle Germany where he studied MAP kinase signaling in plant immunity. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Warwick University, UK and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, focusing on RNA methylation and immune regulation
