Welcome to Plant Identifier, a mobile application developed by TeeBee ("we," "us," or "our"). Plant Identifier is designed to help users identify plants by taking photos or uploading images, using artificial intelligence (AI) to provide plant details. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and storage of information when you use Plant Identifier.
Plant Identifier does not collect any personal information from users, such as names, email addresses, location data, or device identifiers. The app does not require users to create an account or log in to use its features.
Images for Plant Identification: When you use Plant Identifier, you may take a photo or upload an image from your device to identify a plant. We do not collect or store these images beyond their immediate use for analysis. The AI processes the image to provide plant identification results, and the image is not retained by us after the analysis is complete.
The images you provide are used solely for the purpose of identifying plants through our integrated AI technology. Here’s how we handle them:
Temporary Storage: Plant Identifier retains the images from your last five plant identification analyses. These images are stored locally on your mobile device within the app and are not uploaded to any servers or shared externally. This feature allows you to review your recent identifications conveniently.
No Collection: Beyond this temporary local storage, we do not collect, save, or process your images for any other purpose.
We do not share any data, including images or other information, with third parties. Plant Identifier operates as an end-to-end application, meaning all processing occurs between your device and the AI embedded within the app. No external services, analytics tools, or third-party providers are involved in the app’s functionality.
All data used by Plant Identifier, specifically the images from your last five analyses, is stored locally on your device. We do not maintain servers or cloud storage for your data. Since the data remains on your device:
Security: The safety of this data depends on the security measures of your device, such as passcodes or biometric locks. We use end-to-end processing within the app to ensure that data circulates only between your device and the AI, with no external transmission.
Control: You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app, which will remove all locally stored images.
Since Plant Identifier does not collect or store personal data or images beyond temporary local storage on your device:
Data Deletion: There is no need for a data deletion request process, as we do not retain your data. Uninstalling the app will automatically remove all stored images from your device.
Opt-Out Options: As no data collection occurs, there are no data collection practices to opt out of.
Plant Identifier is suitable for users of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We do not collect any personal information from children or any users, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Parents and guardians can feel confident that the app is safe for educational use by children interested in learning about plants.
Plant Identifier does not collect user data, so it is not subject to specific data protection regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in terms of data collection obligations. We are committed to maintaining this minimal data approach to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. If changes occur, we will notify you through an on-screen notification within the Plant Identifier app when you open it after an update. The updated policy will also be available here, with the "Last Updated" date revised accordingly.
