Planets of Our Solar System

Greetings my dears! I’m really excited to get started with our planets unit! We will be working both in the classroom and in the computer lab to learn about our solar system.

By the end of the unit, you will be able to:

  • distinguish between terrestrial, gas giant, and ice giant planets (Jovian)
  • discover what planets you can land on,
  • explain why the rocky planets are closer to the sun and the gas/ice (Jovian) planets are farther from the sun.
  • Describe the size of each of the planets explaining any pattern notice about the makeup of the planets and where they are from the sun and what surprises you about the relative size of them.

We will also take a look at netiquette rules and guidelines.

Some of this will be done in the classroom and some will be done in the computer lab.

As always, I will be walking around checking if you need help and I am available before school. You will find this much easier and less intensive than your history unit so don’t despair. You folks are my number one priority so don’t be afraid to ask questions! Have fun!

Go to the netiquette videos and discussion board rules. Then come back to this page to take the quiz.
