PRESENTATIONS

1) STEP 1: PARENTS CREATE A TEAM. Parent Volunteers will create and lead a team with any kid-friendly, science theme. Ideally, kids plan and run an experiment and present their results on a tri-fold poster on Fair Day. Parents don't have to be science professionals or experts. They only need to be kind, enthusiastic, encouraging and to stay one step ahead of whatever they're teaching! (Thanks internet and library!) Teach the kids that scientific observation, thinking and a method can be applied to ANY topic to understand it more deeply. The most important thing is to give kids some hands-on, social time to keep learning interesting and FUN.

2) STEP 2: STUDENTS SIGN UP FOR TEAMS. (REGISTRATION LINK below) Teams meet AFTER SCHOOL at the Team Leader's home (members can decide on when / how often). You can also meet at the school, Mon-Fri, by reservation. Teams aren't competing, they're just a way to explore a particular theme together. Students are encouraged to get involved and do as much as possible!

OBSERVATION BOARDS

3) INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE ON THEIR OWN. Students can create a simple one-page "Observation Board" explaining ONE scientific phenomenon. These will be published in our Science Journal, BEAKERS. Boards can be printed and posted at the Fair.

4) STUDENTS CAN EXHIBIT WITHOUT A TEAM! Your budding Einstein or Edison can register and show off at the Fair as an INDIVIDUAL PRESENTER.

5) On FAIR DAY, we will have our Invention Convention in the Cafeteria. Exhibits that are messy or need space will be on the Blacktop or football field with folding tables and canopies. Expect games, some Showcase Events, probably a food truck.
