If you want a simple, passive barrier to block snoring and traffic noise while studying or sleeping without any electronics, choose PLAFOPE 2; if you need active audio playback, Bluetooth connectivity, and a dedicated sleep mode that prevents accidental touches, choose Ertuly Sleep Earbuds.
• PLAFOPE 2: The biggest strength is its multi-layer silicone design that creates a reliable physical seal against loud environmental noises like construction or snoring, but it offers zero audio features or battery life since it is purely passive. This pick is for anyone who just wants silence.
• Ertuly Sleep Earbuds: The biggest strength is the inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3, high-quality drivers for music or podcasts, and a specific "Sleep Mode" that disables lights and touch controls, but it requires charging and has a limited single-use battery life of 4–6 hours. This pick is for listeners who need entertainment or white noise to fall asleep.
The PLAFOPE 2 is designed with a singular purpose: creating a quiet environment through pure isolation. Its construction relies on a multi-layer silicone barrier that cleverly achieves a significant noise reduction effect without needing any power source. This makes it an ideal tool for people living in noisy apartments, dealing with a partner who snores, or working in environments where background chatter or traffic noise disrupts focus. The material is safe for long-term use, which means you can wear them for extended periods during a study session or a full night's rest without worrying about electronic interference or battery drain.
In terms of physical design, these earbuds are compact, measuring roughly 1.42 inches in length, and weigh less than an ounce, making them unobtrusive when lying down. They come with multiple sizes to ensure a secure fit that seals out sound effectively. Because they are made of soft silicone and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, they conform to the ear canal without causing pressure points, which is critical for side sleepers who might otherwise be woken up by discomfort. The lack of wires or cords simplifies storage; you can toss them into a small pouch and take them anywhere, whether you are heading to a library, a factory floor, or a swimming pool where water resistance might be beneficial.
You should buy the PLAFOPE 2 if your primary goal is total silence. If you are looking for the best over ear headphones for study but find that bulky cans are too hot or uncomfortable, these soft silicone plugs offer a lightweight alternative that blocks sound physically. However, if you plan to listen to audiobooks, calming music, or meditation tracks to help you drift off, this product will not work for you. There is no speaker, no Bluetooth, and no way to play content. You must skip this option if you need transparency mode or any form of audio output, as it is strictly a noise-isolating device.

The Ertuly Sleep Earbuds represent a more complex solution, blending the comfort required for sleeping with the functionality of modern wireless audio. These buds are engineered specifically for side sleepers, featuring a unique shape that sits flush against the pillow to prevent pressure pain. They utilize advanced driver units capable of delivering realistic sound effects across a frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz, ensuring that the audio experience remains crisp even at low volumes. The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity ensures a stable signal and fast pairing, allowing you to switch seamlessly between your phone, tablet, or laptop.
What sets these apart from standard wireless earbuds is the specialized "Sleep Mode." By clicking the touch point four times, you can enter a state where the earbuds disable all touch controls, turn off flashing LEDs, and eliminate low-battery alarms. This feature is crucial because it prevents you from accidentally changing tracks or waking yourself up with a beep in the middle of the night. The earbuds also provide effective sound isolation, blocking up to 24dB of external noise like urban sounds or noisy neighbors, which helps mask disturbances while you listen to your own audio. The deep gold color and ergonomic stabilizers keep them securely in place, so you don't have to constantly adjust them while rolling around.
You should choose Ertuly Sleep Earbuds if you rely on audio to relax or study. Whether you need the best open ear earbuds for study to maintain focus with ambient music, or you require the best transparency mode headphone for study to hear your surroundings while listening to soft tones, these buds offer that versatility. The case provides a total of 30 hours of playtime, giving you plenty of juice for multiple days of use before needing a recharge. However, if you are sensitive to anything electronic near your head or prefer a completely silent night without the potential for technical glitches, you might find the complexity unnecessary. These are for those who want a seamless blend of comfort and connectivity.
