There are many special festivals that people celebrate in Mainland China. The most important festival is Chinese New Year which is also called Spring Festival. At Chinese New Year, Chinese people give lucky money and visit each other's homes. Many people wear traditional Chinese clothes at this time.

Other popular festivals are Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival (also called Duanwu Festival), Mid-Autumn Festival and Double Ninth Festival. There are also big celebrations for the National Day which is on 1st October.
