Placeholder Replace is a browser extension that helps you replace text placeholders like {{KEY}} inside editable fields on web pages. This policy explains what information the extension processes, how it stores data, and your choices.
If you have questions, please contact: Xylum at xylumlive@gmail.com.
Adds a context menu item in editable fields. When you choose it, the extension replaces placeholders in the currently focused input or textarea using key–value pairs you configure in the options page.
Opens the options page from the toolbar button so you can manage your configuration.
Your key–value pairs, saved as placeholderConfig.
Storage location: chrome.storage.sync, which can sync across your Chrome profile and devices signed into your Google account.
The extension developer does not receive this data.
When you invoke the Replace Placeholders action, the extension reads the text of the currently focused editable element only, performs the replacement locally, and writes the updated text back to that element.
No page content or configuration is sent to external servers by the extension.
Note: Replacement can occur in various input types, including password fields, if you trigger the action while such a field is focused. Consider whether your replacement values are appropriate for sensitive fields.
contextMenus: Shows the “Replace Placeholders” option when you right click inside editable fields.
storage: Saves your key–value pairs in chrome.storage.sync.
activeTab: Allows running code in the currently active tab when you explicitly invoke the action.
scripting: Injects and executes a small script in the current tab at your request to perform the replacement.
The extension does not declare persistent host permissions, and it does not run on pages until you interact with it.

Sync functionality is provided by your browser. Data in chrome.storage.sync may be transmitted to and stored by Google as part of Chrome’s sync service subject to Google’s terms and policies.
Your configuration remains in your browser profile until you delete it or uninstall the extension.
View, edit, or delete keys in the options page, then save.
Remove all data by deleting each entry and saving, or by uninstalling the extension.
To avoid replacement in sensitive fields, do not trigger the action while such a field is focused, or remove sensitive keys from your configuration.
The extension relies on browser-provided storage and permissions.
No additional network endpoints are used by the extension.
The extension is intended for general audiences and does not target children.
