Peek’n Peak Ski and Safety Patrollers are a group of highly trained, dedicated individuals who enjoy skiing and/or snowboarding and helping the patrons of Peek’n Peak Resort have a fun and safe visit.
As a patroller you:
Open the mountain in the morning, enjoying early morning “fresh tracks’.
Sweep the hill at the end of the day, leaving no one behind.
Provide life saving interventions/first aid care to the skiing and snowboarding public.
Work hard, have a good time, and make lifelong friends.
Earn privileges and discounts.
Safety Patrollers are ambassadors of the hill. They help patrons with navigating the resort, aid the ski patrollers at accidents, help keep accident scenes safe, haul equipment, help with opening and closing the hill, etc.
Safety patrollers are trained in professional level CPR/AED and bleeding control so they can give life saving interventions if needed.
At a minimum, every year a safety patroller must attend CPR/AED Training and Lift Evacuation Training at Peek'n Peak.
Ski Patrollers are trained in the most current Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and Outdoor Emergency Transportation (OET) training provided by National Ski Patrol (NSP).
Ski patrol candidates must have been a Safety Patroller at Peek'n Peak for at least one year prior to applying to become a ski patrol candidate. Ski patrol candidates will start with OEC training. This training entails all of the skills used in patient care. This training is broken into book/online training and practical "on the hill"/skills and takes place in the fall. During the winter, the patroller will begin OET training. These skills will be used to enhance the patroller's overall ski/riding skills and will be used to safely transport patients off the hill. Ski patrol candidates will be evaluated on their OEC and OET skills. Upon successful completion of the written, OEC skills and practical exams, the candidate will become a "Patroller". Upon successful completion of the OET evaluation, the candidate will become an "Alpine Patroller"
At a minimum, every year a ski patroller must attend professional level CPR/AED Training, OEC and OET Refreshers, Lift Evacuation Training and November Sessions at Peek'n Peak.
