We understand that every family’s schedule and childcare needs are different. Our goal is to provide dependable, high-quality care while offering flexibility that supports the realities of modern family life.
We strive to work closely with our pals & families to create childcare arrangements that help parents balance work, responsibilities, and family time with confidence.
For families who require additional coverage beyond regular program hours, extended care options may be available for a premium rate, providing added convenience while maintaining the same level of attentive care and supervision.
Because we intentionally maintain a nurturing environment with thoughtful routines and individualized attention, extended care availability is limited to ensure that every child continues to receive the quality care PJ’s Pals is known for.

Our program follows careful supervision practices, clear daily routines, and consistent safety procedures to ensure children are supported and protected throughout the day. Cleanliness, organization, and attentive caregiving are central to how we operate.
We also believe that strong communication builds trust. Families are kept informed through regular updates and open communication so they always feel connected to their child’s day.

We believe that strong relationships are at the heart of a positive early childhood experience. Our program is built around creating a welcoming community where children feel comfortable, families feel connected, and caregivers build meaningful bonds with the children they support.
Children are encouraged to build friendships, practice kindness, and develop social skills in an environment that values respect, cooperation, and belonging. Through shared experiences, group activities, and daily interactions, children learn the importance of being part of a supportive community.
We also believe that parents are an important part of that community. By maintaining open communication and strong partnerships with families, PJ’s Pals creates a space where everyone feels valued and proud to be part of the PJ’s Pals family.
Meet the Owner:
Chelsea O'Meally, the owner of PJ's Pals, founded the company in 2020, combining her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport with her experience in Childhood and Early Childhood Education. Chelsea completed several courses in Inclusive Childhood Education at Nazareth College’s Masters Program, before abruptly taking a leave of absence due to her mother’s passing. Even though Chelsea paused her graduate studies, she continued working as a classroom teacher for the Rochester City School District (RCSD) serving many children and families. In 2019, Chelsea moved on to become an assistant director at a local childcare center. It was during this pivotal time that Chelsea recognized an opportunity to create her own quality care center for families in her community.
Chelsea kick-started her journey into childcare with the purchase of her own home in September 2022. She worked relentlessly to become licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) as a family daycare provider. Chelsea cared for and provided exceptional developmental opportunities for her first six children, ages 1-4. Referrals from the children of families she provided care to quickly grew in number, and inturn, her waitlist began to grow. The qualities Chelsea instilled in PJ’s Pals Childcare Center LLC became well-known in her community, prompting her to expand and hire an additional teacher. This need caused a modality change from family daycare to group family daycare, and Chelsea worked eagerly to earn a new OCFS license where her capacity and the amount of children the program could enroll doubled.
The growth and admiration in her program did not stop there. Chelsea’s waitlist lengthened, and as her dislike of turning families down due to her lack of available spots grew, Chelsea was determined to expand into a facility and become licensed as a childcare center by OCFS. Chelsea hasnow secured a building for PJ’s Pals Childcare Center to continue her dream of exceeding families’ expectations and becoming the #1 childcare program in her hometown of Rochester, New York.
Meet The Team:
Ms. Angela
Ms. Angela has several years of experience working with children in the Rochester area. As a mother of two, she brings a calm, caring, and nurturing approach to the classroom. Her background in management and safety-focused environments also brings strong organization, responsibility, and teamwork skills to PJ’s Pals. Her creativity shines through in the fun activities and experiences she creates to keep children engaged and excited to learn. We appreciate Ms. Angela’s dedication, flexibility, and reliability.
Mrs. Vanessa
Mrs. Vanessa is a dedicated early childhood educator who brings a warm, positive, and engaging presence to PJ’s Pals. She is CPR and First Aid certified, holds her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and is bilingual, with experience caring for children from infancy through school age. As a parent herself, Ms. Vanessa values trust, communication, and consistency while creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence.
Ms. Monique
Ms. Monique is a dedicated and dependable educator who brings loyalty, confidence, and a caring presence to PJ’s Pals. As a parent herself, she understands the importance of patience, consistency, and nurturing relationships. With experience working in a school setting, Ms. Monique is flexible, attentive, and always willing to support both children and staff wherever needed. Her ability to connect with children and adapt to their individual needs makes her a valued member of our PJ’s Pals family.
