If you want wired, flat-head in-ear monitors with a tungsten-coated diaphragm and deep bass focus for critical listening or PC gaming, choose Pizen Senfer PT2021; if you need active noise cancellation, long battery life, and wireless convenience for daily commuting or office work, choose Edifier Atom Max Hybrid.
• Pizen Senfer PT2021: Its biggest strength is the specialized 15mm tungsten-coated driver delivering exceptional bass extension and vocal clarity through a unique acoustic design; its trade-off is that it is a wired, non-noise-cancelling solution with no microphone.
• Edifier Atom Max Hybrid: Its biggest strength is the hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) combined with 45-hour battery life and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity; its trade-off is that it lacks the specific tungsten driver technology and flat-head form factor of the Pizen.
• Who is this for?: The Pizen is for audiophiles and gamers who prioritize raw sound quality and heavy bass over portability, while the Edifier is for travelers and professionals who need to block out the world and stay connected wirelessly.
The Pizen Senfer PT2021 is not designed for the casual listener who just wants to plug something in and forget about it. This headset is built for a very specific type of user: someone who treats their audio setup as an instrument for immersion. The core of its appeal lies in the 15mm Tungsten-coated Nano Diaphragm. In the world of in-ear monitors, finding a driver material that balances rigidity with lightness is a constant engineering challenge. Tungsten offers both, allowing the P21 to present well-extended treble while maintaining a solid, textured low end. If you are looking for extra bass wireless headphones for pc, this isn't your answer because these are strictly wired, but if you want deep bass ear clip headphones for pc that actually deliver on the promise of "heavy" sound without distortion, this is where the magic happens.
The acoustic architecture here is equally distinct. The product utilizes a Double damping Triple flute-inspired acoustic bass tube. Because flat-head earbuds naturally leak bass due to their open nature, Pizen engineered a solution using advanced Resin 3D printing technology to create a sealed environment that boosts lower frequencies effectively. This isn't just software EQ boosting; it is physical engineering designed to ensure you get solid and heavy bass right from the source. The result is a sound profile that is bold, detailed, and rich in human voice density thanks to a high magnetic flux of 1.8T. This makes the PT2021 an ideal companion for anyone who spends hours analyzing music tracks or engaging in competitive PC gaming where directional audio and impact matter more than wireless freedom.

However, you must be clear about what you are giving up to get this level of fidelity. There is no built-in media control for calls, and the interface is a standard 3.5mm gilded line plug. You are buying a dedicated music and gaming tool, not a communication device. Furthermore, the impedance options vary significantly, with versions ranging from 32Ω up to 365Ω. While the 147Ω version is listed, the existence of higher impedance variants means you might need a dedicated amplifier to drive them properly, especially the 275Ω or 365Ω models, to reach their full potential. This headset is for the enthusiast who has a dedicated audio chain or a powerful PC sound card ready to handle the load. It is also worth noting that the frequency response extends up to 30,000Hz, offering a level of detail in the upper register that many consumer-grade headsets simply do not attempt to cover. If you value transparency and the ability to hear every nuance in a recording, and you don't mind being tethered to your computer by a 1.2-meter cable, this is a compelling option. But if you need to take calls or move around your house, this wired, mic-less design will feel like a step backward.
In stark contrast to the niche, wired approach of the Pizen, the Edifier Atom Max Hybrid is built for the modern, mobile lifestyle. This over-ear headphone is designed for people who live in noisy environments—open offices, busy coffee shops, or during daily commutes—and want to escape into their content without lifting a finger. The headline feature here is the Advanced Active Noise Cancellation. Using hybrid ANC technology, the Atom Max claims to reduce ambient noise by up to -44dB. That is a significant reduction that allows you to focus on music, work, or calls even when the world around you is chaotic. For a buyer torn between these two, this is the deciding factor: if you need silence, the Edifier wins immediately.
Connectivity is another area where the Edifier shines. It features Bluetooth 5.4, which ensures fast pairing and a stable connection with a range of up to 10 meters. This eliminates the tangle of wires that defines the Pizen experience. The latency is listed at 0.06 seconds, which is crucial for gamers who play on PC or consoles via Bluetooth dongles or adapters, ensuring that the audio stays synchronized with the video. Battery life is equally impressive, offering up to 45 hours of playback in normal mode and 26 hours with ANC turned on. A single charge takes just 1.5 hours, meaning you can go days or even weeks without plugging it into a USB-C port. This longevity makes it perfect for long flights or marathon work sessions where you cannot afford to stop and listen to a dying battery indicator.
Comfort is also a major selling point. The Atom Max uses soft, breathable earpads and an adjustable headband, all housed within a lightweight, foldable structure. The materials include metal and plastic, providing durability without unnecessary bulk. Unlike the in-ear design of the Pizen, which can cause fatigue after hours of wear, the over-ear design of the Edifier distributes pressure more evenly. The inclusion of the EDIFIER ConneX App adds another layer of utility, allowing you to customize the EQ, adjust the noise cancellation modes, and manage personal settings directly from your smartphone. Whether you are studying, working, watching movies, or playing sports, the versatility here is unmatched. However, it is important to remember that while it supports Hi-Res Audio certification and 40mm dynamic drivers for clear treble and balanced mids, it does not have the specific tungsten diaphragm technology of the Pizen. It trades that specific material science for a broader, more versatile package that includes noise cancellation and wireless freedom. If you are looking for a single pair of headphones to do everything from commuting to casual gaming without the hassle of cables, the Atom Max is the logical choice.
• Best for pure bass impact and detail: Pizen Senfer PT2021. The 15mm tungsten driver and double damping flute design provide a bass response that is physically engineered to be heavier and more textured than the standard dynamic drivers found in the Edifier.
• Best for noise isolation in loud environments: Edifier Atom Max Hybrid. With -44dB hybrid ANC, it actively cancels out background chatter and traffic, a capability the Pizen lacks entirely.
• Best for wireless mobility: Edifier Atom Max Hybrid. Bluetooth 5.4 and a 10-meter range allow you to walk away from your PC or move around the room, whereas the Pizen is limited to a 1.2-meter wired connection.
• Best for extended listening sessions without charging: Edifier Atom Max Hybrid. The 45-hour battery life means you rarely need to think about power, unlike the Pizen which relies on your device's output.
• Best for audiophile-grade frequency extension: Pizen Senfer PT2021. The 30,000Hz frequency response covers a wider spectrum than the 20,000Hz limit of the Edifier, appealing to those who want to hear ultra-high frequencies.
• Best for call quality and hands-free use: Edifier Atom Max Hybrid. The Pizen has no microphone, making the Edifier the only viable option for taking calls while listening.
• Best for users with a dedicated DAC/Amp: Pizen Senfer PT2021. The higher impedance options (up to 365Ω) suggest a target audience with amplification gear to drive the 1.8T magnetic flux to its full potential.
• Best for travel and portability: Edifier Atom Max Hybrid. The foldable design and carrying case make it easy to pack, while the Pizen's rigid resin shell and detachable cable are less convenient for tossing into a bag.
I would buy the Edifier Atom Max Hybrid for my primary daily use. While the Pizen Senfer PT2021 is a fascinating piece of engineering with its tungsten diaphragm and unique acoustic tubes, it is too restrictive for general use. Being a wired, mic-less headset limits its utility in a world where we constantly switch between music, calls, and games. The Edifier offers a much more complete package: active noise cancellation to block out the chaos of daily life, a massive 45-hour battery that removes anxiety about charging, and Bluetooth 5.4 for seamless connectivity. For PC usage specifically, the low latency and comfort of the over-ear design make it superior for long gaming or work sessions. I recommend the Edifier Atom Max Hybrid for anyone who needs a reliable, all-around performer that doesn't sacrifice sound quality for convenience.
No, the Pizen Senfer PT2021 does not have a built-in microphone according to the specifications. If you need a headset with a microphone for PC gaming, you should look elsewhere, such as the Edifier Atom Max Hybrid which supports clear hands-free calls.
The Edifier Atom Max Hybrid features a rechargeable battery with up to 45 hours of playtime, whereas the Pizen Senfer PT2021 is a passive, wired headset that draws power from your device and has no internal battery.
The Edifier Atom Max Hybrid is the clear winner for noisy environments because it utilizes hybrid Active Noise Cancellation that reduces ambient noise by up to -44dB. The Pizen Senfer PT2021 relies solely on passive sound isolation from the fit of the earbud and has no active noise-canceling features.
It depends on which impedance version you choose. While the 32Ω model can likely run off standard devices, the 147Ω, 275Ω, and 365Ω versions may benefit from a dedicated amplifier to fully utilize the 1.8T high magnetic flux and tungsten diaphragm capabilities.
