Game Backstory:
I designed the prototype of this game while taking a class on programming mobile games with XCode/Swift. At the end of the class, I gave myself the goal to publish this game for mobile devices before the next semester, just for the sake of publishing one game -- my first actually published game. I failed at my deadline and took way too long 😅 Porting it from XCode to Godot wasn't hard, but I just kept obsessing over the difficulty of the game -- the gravity, the jump power, the speed, and I couldn't determine when the game was "finished". I had to stop myself many times from feature creeping, and changed the core game loop WAY too many times.
But for me, making this game was mainly about getting the experience of creating a whole game from start to finish and publishing it. An extremely educational journey, and it seems like some people around the world are, in fact, enjoying GridDash. If you are one of those people -- thank you for downloading, and I'm so glad that you enjoy it. Feel free to email or share on the Play Store if you have any feedback. I do plan to update this game more over time.
