Metal Value does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Specifically, the extension does not collect:
Names, email addresses, or contact information
Health information
Financial or payment information
Passwords or authentication credentials
Personal communications
Location data or IP addresses
Browsing history
User activity (clicks, keystrokes, scroll behavior)
Website content
All user preferences (selected metal, currency, weight unit, amount) and price alert configurations are stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's storage.local API. This data never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any external server.
The extension makes network requests to https://api.gold-api.com solely to fetch live precious metal spot prices (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and copper). These requests contain only the metal symbol and currency code needed to retrieve pricing data. No personal or device information is included in these requests.
Metal Value uses the Gold API (api.gold-api.com) as its data source for metal prices. Please refer to the Gold API's own privacy policy for information about how they handle incoming requests. No other third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools are used.
Metal Value does not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties. All data remains local to your browser.
This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information.
Any changes to this privacy policy will be reflected on this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
