Privacy Policy for Pivio
Who we are
Pivio is operated by [full legal name and postal address of the developer]. For questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at feeldevstudio@gmail.com.
Data we process
You can use limited features of Pivio without creating an account. Your beer collection is then stored locally on your device.
If you create an account, we process your display name, email address and login credentials through Firebase Authentication. We also store your tasted beer collection, tasting counts and dates, quest progress, profile statistics and friend connections in Google Cloud Firestore. A copy of your collection and quest progress is stored on your device so the app can restore your state.
Your display name, summary statistics and active quests are part of a public profile. Confirmed friends can view your beer collection. Other registered users can find your profile by entering your full display name or email address; your email address is not displayed in the search result.
When you use the barcode scanner, Pivio sends the scanned barcode to Open Food Facts to look up the product. Pivio does not upload camera images as part of this lookup.
Firebase may process technical information, including IP addresses, to provide authentication and protect the service.
Why we use this data
We use account and collection data to provide the Pivio features you request, including sign-in, synchronization, quests and friend features. The legal basis for this processing is performance of our agreement with you under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.
We use information you send to support to respond to your request and improve the app. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing support and maintaining the service under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
The current version of Pivio does not use advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell your personal data.
Service providers and transfers
We use Google's Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore to operate accounts and store account data. Firebase Authentication processes data in the United States. Google may also process data in other countries according to its service terms. More information is available at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy/.
If you use barcode lookup, the barcode is sent to Open Food Facts. This request is made only when you use that feature.
Purchases
Pivio currently does not offer in-app purchases. If you purchase or download the app through the App Store, Apple handles the App Store transaction under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details.
How long we keep data and how to delete it
We keep account and collection data while your account is active. You can request account deletion in Pivio under Profile → Delete Account. When deletion succeeds, Pivio deletes the account and its associated Firestore data and clears the account's local collection and quest cache. Copies in service-provider backups may remain for a limited time under the provider's retention rules.
We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any related follow-up, unless a longer period is required by law.
Your rights
Depending on your circumstances, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact feeldevstudio@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or our data practices change. We will publish the updated policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required by law.
