Focusing on Community Building

We are pleased to announce our Winter-Spring 2019 program will focus on projects that relate to community building. We chose this focus as a way to honor the eleven individuals who lost their lives in the Tree of Life tragedy.

Broadly, we plan to target our outreach, learning and funding during this programming year toward organizations working to promote connection and community. Consistent with our group's mission, we will maintain our concentration on projects working with, benefitting, or initiated by adolescent girls. Beyond that, we envision engaging with projects that seek to combat hate (including anti-semitism, racism, anti-LGBTQIA+, anti-bullying, anti-immigrant etc.) and/or encourage cross-cultural conversation.

My organization is interested in receiving a grant from YWGS. What is your process?

Our next funding-cycle will occur in Winter-Spring 2019; we anticipate inviting select organizations to apply for funding at that time. In the meantime, we're interested in learning more about great programs happening in our community. If you or an organization you know has a community-building project intersecting with YWGS's mission to support adolescent girls, please contact us to let us know about it.

How can I join?

Most of our programming takes place January - May. If you wish to register for our Winter-Spring (January-May) 2019 program, please fill out the registration form. If you have questions, please contact us.
