Empowering Farmers, Enriching Lives
Our Mission
We are a student-led organization from Vietnam dedicated to providing training to Vietnamese farmers on sustainable dragon fruit cultivation that meets VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. By offering the right training and support, we enable farmers to cultivate dragon fruit sustainably, thereby enhancing their communities and livelihoods.
Meet Our Leader!
Phuong Anh Vo is part of Class of 2024 at Saigon South International School, Vietnam and Class of 2028 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Her connection to this project is deeply personal and rooted in her family’s history as all of her ancestors were farmers. Her grandparents transitioned to fruit farming after the Vietnam War. Despite moving to the city, her mother found herself back in agriculture, working at an exporting company.
Growing up, Phuong Anh was exposed to the agricultural industry through her mother’s work, and it became an integral part of her childhood. Interestingly, her extracurricular activities and work experiences always seems to lead her back to agriculture.
Phuong Anh started Pitaya Project to promote sustainable farming practices and make a difference in the world.
We're organizing a volunteer trip in Moc Chau and Hanoi on July 5-9 with the aim of creating favorable conditions for students to participate in green experiential education and volunteering activities in Chieng Son commune, Moc Chau and Hanoi.
