Somos un conjunto de estudiantes, guiados por el Prof. Jaime Abreu Ramos y Mínelson Medina Ríos, J.D., interesados en investigar, crear y diseñar, mediante el uso de la tecnología, nuevas prácticas educativas dirigidas a fomentar el aprendizaje por medio de proyectos. Por esta razón, uno de los principales objetivos del Proyecto de Digitalización del Día de Pista y Campo es fomentar en los estudiantes el desarrollo de las cuatro destrezas siglo XXI: la comunicación, la colaboración, la creatividad y el pensamiento crítico.
El Día de Pista y Campo, aunque es celebrado en muchas otras escuelas, tiene un significado muy especial y diferente para la Escuela Secundaria de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, mejor conocida por sus siglas en inglés como la UHS. Es conocido como un día de grandes y diversas emociones en el que cada uno de los estudiantes puede demostrar su talento, sea atlético o artístico. Por ende, el Día de Pista y Campo se divide en dos partes esenciales: la parte atlética y la parte artística.
El Proyecto de Digitalización del Día de Pista y Campo busca, con la ayuda de las herramientas que Google provee, publicar y guardar los logros de los estudiantes en este día, haciéndolos a su vez mucho más accesibles al público que los apoya. Para esto, nuestro equipo, compuesto de las clases Matemática Aplicada y Probabilidad y Estadística, se ha dividido en diferentes núcleos de trabajo, tales como programación, publicación, transmisión, etc. Finalmente, esperamos que puedan disfrutar de este gran día, acceder a las puntuaciones de una manera más eficiente y ver la transmisión en vivo del mismo.

We are a group of high school students, guided by Prof. Jaime Abreu Ramos and Mínelson Medina Ríos, J.D., interested in researching, creating and designing, through the use of technology, new educational practices with the goal of promoting project-based learning. Because of this reason, one of the main purposes of the Field Day Digitalization Project is to encourage students to develop the four abilities of the 21st century, better known as "the four c's:" communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
The Field Day, even though it is done in many other schools, has a very special and different meaning for the University of Puerto Rico Secondary School, better known as UHS. It is known to be an exhilarating day in which students can show off their various talents, both athletic and artistic. Because of this, the Field Day at UHS is divided into two parts during the day: athletics and artistic presentations.
The Field Day Digitalization Project aims to publish and save all of the student athletes' times and scores, making them more accessible to the people that support them. This is done utilizing the many tools provided by Google. In order to achieve this, our team, composed of two math courses, Applied Mathematics and Probability and Statistics, divided itself into different work groups such as programming, publication, transmission, logistics, and UAVs management (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, aka. drones). We hope you can enjoy this important day, be able to access your favorite student's scores efficiently, and be able watch their performance online.
