In addition to affording students the opportunity to explore their interests through the PISG, the Bloustein School also offers a full-time Master of Public Informatics (MPI). The MPI curriculum is designed to develop student's competencies in the skills needed in public informatics, i.e. statistics, programming, data management, data analytics, visualization and spatial analysis and theory and experiences necessary to apply and integrate these skills into the world around them.
The Master of Public Informatics program is suitable for students with undergraduate degrees in any field. Applicants must demonstrate competency in one or more programming languages and skills in data management (with coursework, work experience, or by examination).
Full-time students may complete the 36 credit hours required for the degree in three (3) semesters (18 months). Graduates of the program will bring a critical voice and a deep understanding of context to an emerging field.
