The Pipopa 30QT Outdoor Fryer Kit (Aluminum) is my top pick for its dual-pot versatility and robust stand, setting the standard among pipopa outdoor fryers. The runner-up is the Pipopa 36QT model, which offers a slightly larger single pot capacity ideal for massive holiday gatherings without needing a secondary fish pot.
• Pipopa 30QT — best for versatile family meals; pick this if you want both a main turkey pot and a dedicated smaller fish pot in one kit.
• Pipopa 36QT — best for large-scale cooking; pick this if you need maximum volume for a single large item like a big turkey or lobster boil.
• Pipopa 30QT — best for durability against rust; pick this if you prefer stainless steel construction over aluminum for long-term corrosion resistance.
• Pipopa 30QT — best for all-metal stability; pick this if you want a fully welded stainless steel stand to match your pots.
• Pipopa 40QT — best for commercial-grade volume; pick this if you are feeding a very large crowd and need the biggest available pot size.
• Pipopa 18QT — best for compact storage; pick this if you have limited patio space but still need a powerful burner.
• Pipopa 18QT — best for lightweight portability; pick this if you plan to move the unit frequently or store it easily in a garage.
• Pipopa 30QT — best for complete accessories; pick this if you need a comprehensive set with a specific rack lifter and injector included.
This first option is the classic dual-pot configuration that many home cooks look for when they want flexibility. It combines a spacious 30-quart main pot with a generous 20-quart basket, paired alongside a compact 10-quart fish pot and its own matching basket. This setup allows you to fry a whole turkey while simultaneously boiling shrimp or preparing a side dish in the smaller vessel without cross-contaminating flavors. The inclusion of a dustproof cover and a 12-inch skimmer means you are ready to cook right out of the box without hunting for extra tools.
I recommend this kit for households that host varied menus throughout the year. Whether you are doing a Thanksgiving turkey dinner or a casual seafood boil on the weekend, having two distinct pot sizes eliminates the need to wash and dry multiple batches of oil or water. The heavy-duty stand, constructed from thickened angle steel material welded together, provides a solid foundation that feels significantly more stable than units relying solely on screw connections. This welding technique ensures the frame won't wobble even when you are lowering a heavy basket into hot oil.
The trade-off here is primarily about storage bulk. Because this kit includes two separate pots, lids, baskets, and racks, it takes up more room in your shed or garage compared to a single-pot system. If your outdoor cooking space is tight, the sheer number of components might feel overwhelming to unpack after every use. However, for most families, the ability to multitask makes the extra footprint worth the investment.
Moving up in size, the 36-quart model steps away from the dual-pot approach to focus entirely on raw capacity. This unit features a single, massive 36-quart pot paired with an equally impressive 25-quart basket. It is designed for the cook who needs to handle a single, very large item without worrying about splitting the load between two vessels. The 50,000 BTU cast iron propane burner works just as hard here as in the smaller models, ensuring that even this larger volume of oil heats up swiftly and maintains temperature consistently during a deep fry.
In my opinion, this is the superior choice for those who prioritize speed and simplicity over variety. If your primary goal is frying a large bird or a huge batch of Cajun-style crawfish, having one giant pot simplifies the process. You don't need to manage two burners or worry about coordinating timing between a main and a side pot. The heavy-duty welded stand supports this larger weight effectively, maintaining the same structural integrity found in the rest of the lineup.
The downside is the lack of a secondary cooking option. Unlike the 30-quart dual kit, you cannot easily prepare a second dish simultaneously unless you have another burner nearby. Additionally, the single lid design means you are dealing with one large piece of equipment to clean and store. For occasional large events, this is perfect, but for daily small-portion cooking, the 36-quart pot might be unnecessarily large and cumbersome to handle.

This variation distinguishes itself by upgrading the material from aluminum to stainless steel. While the dimensions and capacity remain similar to the first 30-quart model, the switch to stainless steel changes the user experience significantly regarding maintenance and longevity. Stainless steel is inherently more resistant to corrosion and pitting, which is a common issue with aluminum pots left exposed to the elements or harsh cleaning agents. The 30-quart pot and 20-quart basket in this set are built to withstand years of high-heat exposure without degrading.

I suggest this model for buyers who live in humid climates or coastal areas where salt air can accelerate rusting. The durability of stainless steel means you can leave the pot outside under its cover for longer periods without worrying about the metal compromising. It also handles acidic foods, like tomato-based sauces or vinegar-heavy marinades, better than aluminum, preventing any metallic taste transfer to your food. The heavy-duty stand in this version matches the aesthetic and strength of the pots, creating a cohesive, professional-looking setup.
The main compromise is weight. If you plan to move the fryer around your patio frequently or carry it up stairs to a deck, the added heft will be a factor. However, for a permanent or semi-permanent outdoor station, this weight translates to a sense of solid, unshakeable quality that aluminum simply cannot match.
Here we see another iteration of the 30-quart concept, but with a crucial upgrade: the stand itself is made entirely of stainless steel. In previous models, the stand was carbon steel, but this version integrates the pot, basket, lid, and even the lifting hook into a unified stainless steel ecosystem. This is not just a pot sitting on a metal frame; it is a fully integrated stainless steel system designed to last.
This is the ideal pick for the enthusiast who wants a premium, industrial-grade look and performance. The fact that the entire structure is stainless steel means there are no mixed metals to worry about reacting with each other or corroding at different rates. The welding on the stand remains robust, providing excellent stability for the 30-quart pot. The inclusion of the 12-inch skimmer and dustproof cover completes the package, ensuring that every component shares the same high-quality finish.
The trade-off lies in the cost and weight again. A fully stainless steel unit is generally more expensive to manufacture, which often reflects in the price point. Furthermore, the all-metal construction adds to the overall weight, making it less portable than lighter aluminum versions. If you are looking for a "set it and forget it" appliance that looks great and stands the test of time, this is the version to choose, provided you have a sturdy spot to keep it.
For those who need the absolute largest capacity available in this lineup, the 40-quart model is the answer. This stainless steel powerhouse features a 40-quart pot and a massive 30-quart basket, designed specifically for feeding large crowds or handling oversized cuts of meat. The 50,000 BTU burner is capable of heating this substantial volume of oil efficiently, ensuring that you aren't waiting forever for the temperature to stabilize. The heavy-duty stand is engineered to support this increased weight, offering a stable platform for high-volume cooking.
I recommend this unit only if you regularly host large parties or cater events where a standard turkey fryer falls short. The sheer volume allows you to fry a very large bird or boil an entire catch of crab legs in one go. The stainless steel construction ensures that even with frequent, heavy use, the pot will maintain its integrity. It is a serious piece of equipment for serious cooks who need to get a lot of food done quickly.
However, the size and weight are significant constraints. The physical dimensions are also larger, requiring a significant amount of floor space on your patio or deck. If you do not have the space to accommodate such a large unit or the need to feed a large group regularly, this model may be overkill and impractical for everyday use.
Stepping down to a more manageable size, the 18-quart model offers a powerful solution for smaller kitchens or those with limited outdoor space. This unit features a single 18-quart pot with two 9-quart inner baskets, allowing you to cook multiple items simultaneously without mixing flavors. The food-grade aluminum construction ensures even heat distribution, which is critical for achieving crispy results without burning. The 50,000 BTU burner packs a punch relative to the pot size, heating up the oil rapidly for efficient frying.
This is the best choice for couples, small families, or anyone who doesn't need to fry a whole turkey. The dual-basket feature is particularly useful for cooking appetizers like wings and fries at the same time, keeping your meal prep organized. The unit comes with essential accessories like a thermometer, tongs, and a regulator hose, making it a complete kit right out of the box. It strikes a balance between power and practicality that larger models often miss.
The primary limitation is the reduced capacity. If you try to fry a large bird, it simply won't fit. You must stick to smaller portions or cut your meats into pieces. Additionally, while the aluminum is durable, it is not as resistant to corrosion as stainless steel, so proper cleaning and drying are essential to maintain the pot's condition over time. For smaller scale cooking, however, this is a highly efficient and user-friendly option.
Another take on the 18-quart size focuses on portability and ease of handling. It retains the dual 9-quart basket system and the food-grade aluminum construction, ensuring you don't sacrifice cooking quality for the sake of weight. The ergonomic handles and silicone grips on the baskets add a layer of safety, reducing the risk of burns when lifting hot food out of the oil.
I favor this version for campers, tailgaters, or anyone who needs to transport their fryer to different locations. The lightweight design means you can easily carry it to the beach, a park, or a friend's house without breaking a sweat. Despite its lightness, it still delivers the same 50,000 BTU performance, proving that you don't need a heavy unit to get good results. The compact dimensions make it simple to tuck away in a car trunk or a small closet.
The trade-off is that the lightweight construction might feel less substantial than the heavier models. Some users might perceive the thin walls of the aluminum pot as less durable, though the food-grade material is designed to withstand regular use. It also lacks the heavy-duty welded stand found in the larger kits, meaning you would need to place it on a stable surface separately. For mobile cooking, though, this is the most convenient option available.
This final 30-quart model rounds out the selection by focusing on a comprehensive accessory suite. It includes a 30-quart stainless steel pot and a 15-quart perforated fry basket, along with a propane cooker, waterproof cover, and a full array of tools like a marinade injector and turkey rack. The heavy-duty stand, made of thickened welded carbon steel, provides the necessary stability for safe operation. The design emphasizes a "7-in-1" approach, ensuring that every step of the frying process is covered with dedicated tools.
This is an excellent pick for first-time turkey fryers who want a guided, complete experience. Having everything from the rack to the injector included removes the guesswork of what else you might need to buy. The stainless steel pot ensures durability, while the included accessories allow for precise control over the cooking process. The 50,000 BTU burner ensures that the large volume of oil heats up quickly, getting you to frying temperature faster.
The main consideration is the specific arrangement of the baskets and tools. While the 15-quart basket is functional, some users might find the 20-quart basket options in other 30-quart models offer more flexibility for larger items. Additionally, the weight of the stainless steel components combined with the full accessory set means this unit is substantial. However, for someone wanting a turnkey solution for their next big cookout, this kit offers the most complete package of tools and protection.
We compared published specs and features across the entire range to determine how each unit performs in real-world scenarios. The ranking is our independent editorial opinion based on material quality, capacity utility, and design stability; no brand paid for placement.
No, all models in this guide are explicitly designed for outdoor use only due to the high output of the propane burners and the risk of carbon monoxide buildup indoors.
Yes, the kits include the burner and hose but do not come with the propane tank itself, which you will need to purchase separately from a local supplier.
Generally, no. Most models are designed for gas or propane burners, and using them on induction or electric stovetops may damage the flat bottom or fail to provide sufficient heat.
You should avoid abrasive scrubbers that could scratch the food-grade surface; instead, use warm soapy water and a soft sponge to maintain the non-stick properties and prevent corrosion.
