PipeSure ("the app") is a pipe-fitting calculator for iPhone and Android. You enter measurements, and the app shows offsets, cut lengths, fitting take-outs and related figures. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.
Every calculation happens on your device. The lengths and angles you enter, the results the app shows, and the take-out values you type are never uploaded, transmitted or shared. There is no account and no sign-in. The app works fully offline, including in airplane mode.
The app sends a small number of anonymous usage events through Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand which calculators and fitting setups are actually used and to guide future development. Aptabase is the only processor of this usage data. If the phone is offline, events wait and are sent later.
Every event is a discrete, named occurrence with a small number of fixed-value properties. There are 10 events in total:
the app was opened
a calculator was opened, and which of the eight it was
a result appeared for the first time on a calculator screen, plus which calculator and whether the app was set to inches or millimetres (never the numbers)
the joint (butt-weld, socket-weld or threaded) was changed, plus which joint and where (the fitting bar or Settings)
a take-out value was typed over the table value, plus the joint, fitting family and pipe size, and whether the app already had a table value for it (never the value itself)
a result was calculated with a take-out value you typed, and on which calculator
the "Steps & math" sheet was opened, and for which calculator
"Try an example" was tapped, and on which calculator
the entered values cannot work (for example the fittings overlap or there is no stock fitting at that angle), plus which calculator and which kind of problem (never the message or the numbers)
the first-launch setup screen was finished or skipped, plus the joint that was in effect
Along with each event, Aptabase records standard technical context: operating system version, device model, app version, country (derived from IP address, which Aptabase does not store), and a session identifier that rotates and is not tied to you.
What is never sent, under any event:
any length, angle, measurement, take-out value, root gap or result you enter or see
the values saved in the app's settings or the last inputs you used
error or warning message text
your name, email address, or any account information (the app has no accounts)
advertising identifiers or persistent device identifiers
precise location
This data is anonymous and is not linked to your identity. It is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is never sold and never shared for advertising; Aptabase acts only as our analytics processor. You can turn it off at any time with the “Share anonymous usage counts” switch in Settings; the app works the same either way.
On Android the app requests one permission: Internet, used only to send the anonymous analytics events described above. The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, location, camera, microphone or files.
The app contains no advertising, tracking or payment services. The app is a one-time paid download; the purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play, and PipeSure never sees your payment details.
The app remembers your settings (for example inches or millimetres, rounding, your joint, fitting family, pipe size and root gap, the take-out values you typed, your language, and the last values you entered) in the app's local storage on your device. This information is never sent anywhere and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Because the analytics data is anonymous and carries no identifier tied to you, there is no per-user record we can locate or delete on request. Aptabase retains aggregate event data under its own retention policy. If you prefer not to send any analytics, switch off “Share anonymous usage counts” in Settings (the app still works normally), deny the app network access in your device settings, or uninstall the app, which removes all app data from your device.
The app is a general-purpose calculator for tradespeople and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a new effective date, and the store privacy declarations will be updated to match.
