Rich drove a bus for the local school district after retiring from a 40 year management career in the grocery industry. He helps immensely as our merchandiser, facilities manager, and all around super “gopher”. He is especially skilled at trapping our problem rodents.
Pint Size Posies was born from a student's request for a florist referral for her wedding. From this encounter a collaboration formed to grow the flowers for this wedding which sparked the idea of becoming a farmer-florist.
The summer following that wedding, a new love blossomed while touring the Sequim Lavender Fest and the dream began to take shape with a supportive partner. Our small parcel of land was purchased in January 2020 and the micro farm began to take shape and provided much solace during the pandemic.
Our farm name has multiple meanings. We are a micro-farm of 0.1 acres of intensely planted, no-till beds. It is the form in which most of our flowers are distributed, a simple posey in a recycled pint size mason jar.
Inspired by a favorite childhood story. We liken our place, nestled at the base of the beautiful and majestic Olympic Mountains, as our “little farm in the big woods".
