ANNOUNCEMENT
Nominations for the Board of Directors
Filipino American Foundation of New Mexico
Dear Filipino-American Community Members:
We are pleased and excited to inform all members that the Filipino American Foundation of New Mexico is now open for nominations for the next Board of Directors. This is a wonderful opportunity for the community members to actively participate in the leadership and future direction of our Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria for Nominees:
To be eligible for nomination, individuals must meet the following requirements:
1. Active Membership: The nominee must be an active member of the Filipino
American Foundation of New Mexico.
2. Good Standing: The nominee must be in good standing within the community and
with the Foundation, having no outstanding dues or violations.
3. Commitment: The nominee should demonstrate a commitment to the
Foundation’s mission of promoting Filipino culture, community service, and unity.
4. Residency: Nominees must reside within the state of New Mexico to ensure active
participation in board activities.
Election Process:
1. Nomination Period: The nomination period will run from October 1, 2024 no
later than midnight of October 30, 2024. During this time, any FAFNM member
in good standing can submit a nomination.
2. Submission of Nominations:
The nominating committee shall accept print or electronic nominations sent
through FAFNM's PO Box or email address above, respectively.
Please be sure to include a brief statement outlining the nominee’s qualifications
and reasons for the nomination.
3. Review by the Election Committee: All nominations will be reviewed by the
Election Committee to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements. For example,
members who have paid their dues at least two months prior to the election shall
be eligible to elect candidates. Once verified, a list of eligible candidates will be
announced to the public.
4. Election Date: The election for new board members will take place on December 7,
2024. All Candidates for BOD shall be presented to the members and elected at the
general membership meeting.
Voting will be open to all active members of the foundation, either in person or
through online voting (if applicable).
5. Results Announcement: Election results will be officially announced and shall be
considered Directors of the Foundation. The newly elected Board of Directors will
begin their term starting on January 1, 2025.
