## Information We Collect
PingLab requires certain permissions to function as a network diagnostic tool. Here's what data we access and why:
### 1. Network Connectivity Information
**Permissions:** `INTERNET`, `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`, `ACCESS_WIFI_STATE`
**What We Access:**
- Current network connection status (connected, disconnected, type)
- WiFi network information (SSID, signal strength, frequency)
- Connection type (WiFi, cellular, ethernet)
**Why We Need It:**
- To perform ICMP and HTTP ping tests
- To display real-time network connectivity status
- To show WiFi network details and signal strength
**How We Use It:**
- Displayed locally in the app interface
- Used to execute ping operations
- Never transmitted off your device
### 2. Location Information
**Permission:** `ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION`
**What We Access:**
- Used only to access WiFi network details (Android requirement)

- Android requires location permission to access WiFi SSID and detailed network information
- We do NOT use your location for tracking or navigation
**How We Use It:**
- Only accessed when displaying WiFi network information
- Never transmitted off your device
- Never stored persistently
**Important:** If you deny this permission, the app will still function but won't display WiFi SSID.
### 3. Phone State Information
**Permission:** `READ_PHONE_STATE`
**What We Access:**
- Cellular network information (carrier name, network type like 4G/5G)
- Signal strength for cellular connections
**Why We Need It:**
- To display cellular network details in the Dashboard
- To show which type of mobile network you're connected to
**How We Use It:**
- Displayed in network status views

- Never transmitted off your device
**Important:** We do NOT access your phone number, call logs, or any telephony functions.
### 4. Technical Information
**What We Process:**
- Ping response times and statistics
