The successful candidate’s scholarship will focus on health services research/health informatics (e.g., health management, health policy, health economics, medical informatics, clinical informatics, applications of AI/ML/Data science to Health) and will be aligned with Population Informatics Lab (https://pinformatics.org/).
All applications materials should be submitted through or uploaded to Interfolio https://apply.interfolio.com/142529. Please provide: 1) curriculum vitae, 2) a cover letter, 3) personal statement to include research interests, and 4) a list of five (5) references; references will be contacted if you are selected for an interview. Questions regarding this posting may be sent to Dr. Hye Chung Kum (kum@tamu.edu), search committee Chair.
The Population Informatics Lab applies informatics, data science, and computational methods to the increasingly large digital traces available to advance public health, social science, and population research. We also apply mixed methods and qualitative methods to study the informatics systems and data governance/ELSI topics. This research group is a joint effort between UNC-CH and Texas A&M. Dr. Kum, the lead, is a data scientist with training in both computer science and health and has worked with many data scientists, computer science students to do research on health informatics problems.
