Pinewoods Tutoring sponsors an after school program for children age Pre-K to 5th grade in the Pinewoods community of Athens, Georgia. Tutors reinforce academic skills by assisting students with their homework and by creating unique lesson plans that enable children to thrive in an interactive learning environment and become confident in English skills. Knowledge of the Spanish language is not required, and we welcome undergraduate college students of any major as volunteers. Tutoring takes place in-person Monday through Thursday from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. 

For Spring 2026, orientation for new tutors will be the week of February 9th, and students will start February 17th. Interested volunteers should fill out our registration form and keep an eye out for information closer to these dates!
