Curriculum

Pine & Meadow Nursery supports children's learning by centering the curriculum on their interests. I use an emergent curriculum that follows a project-based style. This means that most projects will start with the children's individual and collective interests and then they'll explore the topic further during Project time and free times. 

For young children, this may look like exploring clay, paint, balls etc. For preschool-aged children, this may look like exploring farms, clothing, winter and we'll follow a more structured process. The process includes 3 distinct phases to start the investigation, become immersed in it, and celebrate our learning.

For each project, parents will be notified and updated throughout by formal newsletters. Parent and community support engages the learner even further and collaboration is encouraged.

Learning centers is another time frame that is utilized to engage your child in teacher-led lessons that may be individual or small-group. During this time, I have intentional learning materials set-up for children to access and will also use this time to go through preschool curriculum with the older children.

Preschoolers will be using The Good and Beautiful Curriculum to begin preparing for Kindergarten.
