Troop 6222 was born out of a desire to offer the Girl Scout experience to all girls in Pima, regardless of whether there is a strong Girl Scout presence at their schools. Pima neighborhood encompasses the following schools:
Elementary Schools
Laguna, Anasazi, Mission Montessori, Camelback Desert, Redfield, Desert Canyon, Cheyenne, Copper Ridge, Archway Scottsdale, BASIS Scottsdale, Grayhawk, Pinnacle Peak, Sonoran Sky, and Cheyenne.
Middle & High Schools
Desert Canyon, Scottsdale Prep, BASIS Scottsdale, Mountainside, Desert Mountain, and Chaparral.
Although you do not have to attend one of these schools to join our troop (on any other Pima troop), most of our events happen in this general geographic area.

Who we are
The two main adult leaders of Troop 6222 are Lee and Diana. Lee and Diana are lifetime members of Girl Scouts with older girl troops of our own. Lee heads up a high school troop (2010) and Diana has two mixed middle school/high school troops (2256/4727). They bring with them strong group of leaders who work within their troops and the neighborhood. Girls in Troop 6222 progress to 4727 in sixth grade and then on to either 2010 or 2256 when they are in high school.
Monthly meetings for 6222 are planned and led by Senior/Ambassador Girl Scouts (grades 9-12) .
Meetings
We meet once a month on Saturdays at 10 am. Each month, there is also another opportunity (or more) to participate in other events. These events require that a registered and background checked adult attend with each child. Our troop parents either attend with their own girls or work with one another to attend together.
We try to schedule all meetings so that Lee and Diana can be present but are not able to do so every month. As a result, we need at least two registered parent volunteers to attend the regular troop meetings each month. We are not requesting that you do anything other than be present so that we meet our safety ratios. What generally has been happening is there are two "assigned" parents for each meeting but many of the parents stay to socialize. This is absolutely fine.
We also have a need for first-aid and troop camp certified adults to assist us when we camp. Please let us know if you are interested in fulfilling these roles.
Dues
There is a one-time dues payment of $100. We do not charge dues except in the first year because we participate in fall product and cookie sales and self-fund that way.
Other than that, we only ask that you provide treats once this year and pay for some of the Parent/Daughter events you wish to attend.
