Emily Shelton is an artist and educator based in South Carolina with a focus in soft sculpture and recycled materials. She recently earned her Master of Fine Arts from Winthrop University and currently works as an elementary art teacher. Her artistic journey has been an exploration of unifying themes, with a particular focus on her local flora and fauna and empathy. Emily intertwines the beauty of nature with the human experience and often combines recycled textiles with found and natural objects to craft experiences that evoke contemplation and connection. Through her art, she aims to spark curiosity and reflection, inviting viewers to consider their place within the interconnected web of art, nature, and humanity.
