Here we provide access to numerical codes and files for running simulations.
IllinoisGRMHD with tabulated EOS support
Please visit https://github.com/pilambdaepsilon/UAThorns to download our version of IllinoisGRMHD, along with supporting code. This version will allow you to simulate magnetized neutron star binaries with finite temperature tabulated equation of state support (in the format of StellarCollapse EOS tables). Please reach out for help with examples or to report any issues you face with the code.
IllinoisGRMHD examples
Some useful examples for running our version of the IllinoisGRMHD code. Included are examples for:
a magnetized TOV star (polytropic EOS)
a magnetized TOV star (LS220 finite-temperature EOS, this parameter file can be easily modified for a rotating NS by lowering the parameter RNSID::axes_ratio)
a magnetized BNS (polytropic EOS)
a magnetized BNS (LS220 finite-temperature EOS)
The example tar includes:
parameter files for each example
required EOS files in different formats
initial data for the binaries, built with the Lorene library

Above: A snapshot from a version of one of the example simulations (magnetized BNS with DD2 finite-temperature EOS - we provide files for a similar simulation, but with the LS220 EOS). Shown are several fluid variables (left to right: rest mass density, electron fraction, temperature, and specific entropy) on the equatorial (top panel) and meridional (lower panel) planes at a point in the simulation a few milliseconds after the merger. We highlight regions of the remnant with densities above 1e13 g/cm^3 and 1e14 g/cm^3 with dashed and solid lines, respectively.
