Each year before the St.Patrick’s Day Parade, members of the Fighting 69th raise a glass to toast their heritage, the historic sacrifices made by their Regiment, and the peoples of Ireland and America. For decades, the leadership of the 69th had searched for a whiskey worthy of the occasion. In 2016, Honorary Colonel of the Regiment and Trustee of the Sixty-Ninth Infantry Regiment Historical Trust, Colonel James Tierney, attended the annual 1848 Tricolour Celebration in Waterford, Ireland. It was while he was in Waterford, on a tour of a local distillery, that Tierney decided it was time f or the 69th to develop its own whiskey brand.Three years later Colonel Tierney's vision was realized. Today, one dollar of every bottle sold goes to support the Sixty-Ninth Infantry Regiment Historical Trust, a 501-c-3 not-for-profit foundation created to preserve the history and traditions of the Regiment, and provide financial and other assistance to unit members, veterans, and/or their families.
