As urban centers like Chicago grow, the Urban Wildlife Institute aims to study urban wildlife issues. One goal is to study how human-wildlife and pet-wildlife conflicts can be minimized in these urban settings. Partners in Fieldwork hopes to compliment this mission through the edification of participants in the program, ultimately concentrating on creating ways to minimize conflicts with wildlife.
To find out which animals live in Chicago, we’ve collected more than 1 million photos of wildlife from the Loop to the burbs. To ID them, though, we need your help! Chicago Wildlife Watch, developed by Lincoln Park Zoo and the Adler Planetarium, lets everyone help us understand how animals—from coyotes to chipmunks—share this great city.
