Through my research, I often had to match databases of firms and banks with no common identifiers. To do so, I used the reclink2 command, a record linking algorithm available on Stata. I share here the matching tables for a number of databases I have matched with this procedure. Disclaimer: while all matches were manually reviewed, there may still be errors and inaccuracies. This file contains a linking table that allows matching 1141 Euro Area financial institutions providing syndicated loans as reported in Thomson Reuters Dealscan to Fitchconnect, a database containing financial statements information on banks. For details on the matching procedure refer to Appendix E of the article "Sovereign stress and heterogeneous monetary transmission to bank lending in the euro area".
