Welcome!

I'm Pietro Geuna, a Ph.D. student at the Paris School of Economics. At PSE, I am part of the team of the Labor Chair. I am also a research affiliate at the Institute of Public Policies (IPP).

I am currently visiting UC Berkeley's IRLE, hosted by Emmanuel Saez, and will be in California until the end of 2025. In the second semester, I willl be back in London, to visit UCL and the IFS, hosted by Richard Blundell

My work is mostly in labor economics, with an interest in applied econometrics and political economy. In particular, I am broadly interested in labor market power, and the interplay between political institutions and monopsony. I have a keen interest in the history and politics of trade unions.

My supervisors are Thomas Breda and Éric Maurin. Before starting my Ph.D., I completed a BA at University College London (ESPS) and a Master's degree at PSE (APE). I am originally from Turin, Italy, and I'm an avid chess fan. For more information, see my CV.

You can find me on BlueSky.

At PSE, I used to organise the Applied Economics Lunch Seminar. For questions and slot availability, you can contact the new organizing team
