There can be up to 4 Class Parents per class. Only 2 parents will be in the classroom at any event. Celebrations will be divided up in the beginning of the year, ensuring all class parents get time in the classroom.

If more than 2 parents volunteer per class, there can be up to 4 Class Parents who will rotate Class Parties. If more than 4 parents sign up for a class, a selection of 4 will be made by lottery.

If more than one person signs up for Class Captain, selection will be made by previous service to the PTA.

The duties of a Class Parent are as follows:

  • Possibly assisting the teacher with class parties or events by providing activities, games, crafts, etc., by either purchasing these items with collected class funds and/or by soliciting and organizing the contributions of the items from other parents in the class. The activities for each classroom shall be determined by the teacher and carried out by the class parents. Please note that class parties are at the discretion of the teacher and should not exceed 40 minutes in length. We are not permitted to provide a snack/treat at any parties or celebrations.

  • Collecting a Class Fund from the class families to help pay for Class Parties and Teacher Gifts.

  • Organizing and purchasing the homeroom teacher(s)'s Holiday and End of the Year Gift.

  • Chaperoning field trips if needed.

  • Opportunity to attend Fitness Day in May.

The requirements of the Class Parents are as follows:

  • You must be a current PTA member in good standing.

  • Class parents are asked to volunteer to serve PTA lunches at least 3 times during the school year.
