Work & Wilderness Information
WHO?
Any teen ages 12-18 (rising 7th grade-recent graduate) is welcome to attend.
Teens who like the outdoors and like to work with their hands are a great fit for this camp!
WHAT?
Work & Wilderness Camp will be split between doing work projects at the campground for 2 days and tent camping at Fort Hamby in Wilkesboro, NC from Wednesday-Saturday. At Fort Hamby, we will have the opportunity to swim in W Kerr Scott Reservoir, play disc golf on their on-site 18-hole disc golf course, hike, hammock, and relax after working for 2 days! Students should expect to be physically active daily.
WHEN?
Sunday, June 29-Saturday, July 5, 2025
Registration will be 3-5 pm on Sunday, June 29. Pickup is at 11 am on July 5.
Please do not arrive for registration early as preparations will still be happening.
We welcome parents & families to visit their child at camp during designated visiting hours. We will be at the campground in Blowing Rock Sunday-Tuesday evenings. Visiting hours will be 5-8 pm. If you need to contact your child at another time, you can call the camp or James Hewitt, director. If you choose to visit Fort Hamby, they may charge a $5 visitor fee at the door.

HOW MUCH?
Cost: $200 if the student is registered by June 22.
$225 for late registration.
There are limited numbers due to camping restrictions. Make checks payable to Piedmont Conference Youth.
