As an AVP, Business Banker II with Atlantic Union Bank, Matt works with business owners to reach their strategic goals through lending, deposit/cash management, and strategic planning.  In addition to traditional bank lending, Matt focuses on Business Acquisition/Sale lending, serving as the connection between aging business owners and their retirement goals.  Through his banking career, Matt has worked every position in a bank branch to include managing several branches, and maintained multiple volunteer roles to serve the communities in which he does business.  Currently, Matt is the Chair of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Charlottesville Committee, Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville, Board Member of the Kiwanis Foundation of Charlottesville, Advisory Board Member of the Valley SBDC, and a Life Skills Teacher at the Valley Mission in Staunton.

Michael has lived and worked up and down the East Coast—from Connecticut and Baltimore to Atlanta, Norfolk, and Boston—gaining experience in construction, management, and finance along the way. He attended Virginia Tech and is a Hokies football fan, he also studied at Old Dominion University while living beachside in Norfolk.  After a successful stint in finance in Boston, Michael returned to Virginia with a mission: to help expand access to affordable housing in the Charlottesville area. Now a licensed real estate agent, he’s focused on making a meaningful impact in his community.  Outside of work, Michael enjoys golfing, hiking, skiing, and visiting friends across the country. He never misses a chance to be near the ocean and actively supports several charities throughout Charlottesville and Central Virginia.

Alex Mahone

Alex was born and raised in Charlottesville and graduated from Tandem High School and James Madison University. After graduating from James Madison, he worked for Americorps in Northern Virginia before joining the Peace Corps, where he served in Zambia, Africa for 2 years. Following the Peace Corps, he worked for the International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville for 3 years before starting with Mahone Mortgage in August of 2021. Alex is married to Maria Osorio, who he met in the Peace Corps, and they have two children named Benny and Lola.
