No, don't give that advice. It is old and no longer relevant and it can cause problems for the seller. The only way for local pickup to not affect Star Seller is to send a thank you note or pickup confirmation to the buyer via Etsy letter mail so there is valid tracking.

OK I understand. Etsy Help articles can be confusing. In the US, if we click on Other all it provides is a field in which to enter a different courier than what is in the drop down. There is no a link for "hand delivery" or "local pickup". You would probably not see this if you are not in the US.

What people were doing in the beginning (before Etsy gave pickup as an option under 'This Order Does not have Tracking'), was to select Other and fill in a made-up tracking number. That was the only way for their order to be marked Completed, so that advice was going around at first.

The only way I can think of for a local pickup to work with Star Seller is if the buyer contacts the seller ahead of time to ask if a pickup is available.
