Johan Bollen
Associate Professor of Informatics and Computing
Johan Bollen is associate professor at the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing. He was formerly a staff scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory from 2005-2009, and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Old Dominion University from 2002 to 2005. He obtained his PhD in Experimental Psychology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in 2001. He has published more than 75 articles on problems in computational social science, complex networks, and informetrics. His research has been funded by the NSF, DARPA, IARPA, EDA, NASA, and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Johan lives in Bloomington, Indiana with his wife and daughter. In his free time he enjoys P90x and DJing in the local Bloomington clubs as DJ Angst.

Currently, she is a member of the Board of COMPETE 2020 - Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalization, with direct responsibility for Science and R&D, was also Member of the Board of Human Capital Programme (2014-2016) and Human Potential Programme (2007-2013). Manager of PRODEP (Educational Development Programme – CSF 2000-2006), Coordinator of the Innovation and Knowledge Unit Mission and National Expert at the European Commission - DG Employment and Social Affairs (ESF/Portugal).
Isabel Caetano

Isabel Caetano is a member of the Board of the Portuguese National Innovation Agency (ANI). She has focused her professional activity on the development and coordination of strategic and international relations, associated to research and innovation, technology transfer and technology-based companies. She was the director of International Relations at the Innovation Agency (AdI) and the Project Director of COTEC Portugal, a Business Association for Innovation. She coordinated the Portuguese Presidency Committee of the EUREKA Initiative and was responsible for the International Relations and Program Management at INESC. In addition, she was also the National Contact Point for SMEs under the 6th Framework Program for Research in the European Union. She has a degree and Master in International Relations, attended the Executive Program 'Driving Strategic Innovation' at IMD and the Doctorate program 'Governance, Knowledge and Innovation', at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra.
Susana Cardoso de Freitas

Susana Cardoso de Freitas (1973) received the MSc (1996) and PhD (2002) degrees in technological physics engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon. Between 2002-2006, she was a postdoctoral fellow at IBM (USA) and at INESC-MN. Presently she is the co-leader of the Magnetics & Spintronics group and an Associated Professor at the Physics Department at the IST. She is co-author of over 260 publications, is responsible for advanced training and has an active international cooperation within projects and industrial contracts on advanced thin films, microfabrication processes and sensors.
