Ana Sanchez

Ana Sanchez is member of the Board of Directors of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). Ana Sanchez is also a lecturer in science communication, at the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. Before joining FCT, she was head of the Communications and Science Awareness Office at the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB) of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and a member of the Mostmicro research unit.  She has coordinated and participated in several science awareness projects funded by the national agency Ciência Viva, as well as EU-funded projects, and was involved in setting up the Portuguese community of science communicators SciCom.Pt association. Ana Sanchez is one of the creators and coordinators of the Masters in Science Communication of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. She also coordinates the science communication modules of three FCT-funded PhD Programmes and two science communication courses of the NOVA Doctoral School. She obtained a PhD in Biology from the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen, Netherlands, in 2001.
