Natalie is a classically-trained pianist with professional experience directing church music, performing piano for live shows, and improvising jam sessions. She loves to learn about new music from her students, and often writes arrangements of their favorites customized for their skill and enjoyment.
Natalie's favorite part about teaching lessons is helping her students to find meaningful connections between their lives and the music they want to learn. For kids, this can mean creating custom arrangements of music from a favorite movie and playing a variety of fun and active games. For adults, this might mean learning about chords and theory from contemporary pop music and building the skills to join in jam sessions. If music is a part of your life, we can find a way to make piano lessons right for you!
Growing up on the east coast, Natalie performed in numerous piano competitions and directed the music program at a church in Maryland. After moving to Minnesota in 2019 to practice Music Therapy, Natalie discovered her passion for individual music instruction. Her background as a Board-Certified Music Therapist informs her supportive and accommodating approach to students of all abilities. Recently, she has accompanied vocal ensembles, worked with a number of Minnesota-based studios to create individual and group lessons, and has opened her own private studio focused on inclusive lessons for all students.
When she is not playing piano, you may find Natalie playing Dungeons & Dragons, doing an art project, or hanging out with her 2 cats, Archimedes and Mythos.
