ABOUT ME
Hello Bradford, My name is Ava Glover! I run an at home teaching practice and am offering piano lessons during this summer season. I attend Queen's University as a music major and am working towards becoming a music teacher in the future. I have been playing and learning the piano for 12 years and am currently working on my BA Honours in Music. This will be my fourth year teaching piano! I am so excited to be able to share the gift of music with your children, as it has been such a significant aspect of my upbringing. My goal is to facilitate a fun and educational environment where children feel comfortable to shape their musical abilities!
Dates: Week of May 1st - Week of August 31
I run a spring/summer teaching program through the months of May, June, July and August! This summer session will consist of 18 weeks that will introduce the fundamentals/basics of music in a structured and exciting way. Students will understand the importance of reading, playing, and interpreting music they are presented with. No experience is necessary! Students of all musical backgrounds will be encouraged to develop their practical and theoretical abilities while learning the importance of musicality and technical skills. The spring/summer session will conclude with a recital where students are able to showcase their musical progress.
During the school year while I am unable to regularly teach in-person, I am happy to announce that I provide online lessons via zoom! Although there is no replacement for a face to face lesson, virtual learning is able to provide all that regular lessons do from the convenience of your own home! This opportunity for virtual learning also is able to foster a sense of independence as they navigate their musical maturity. It is my duty to provide students with the same level of care, commitment, and planning process that I would in the summer months. It is important for the flow of musical learning that students feel a sense of stability and continuity, which I am able to produce in this format.

PROGRESS REPORTS
Each student will receive 2 progress reports during the summer session. One midway through the season and one at the end of the season. These reports provide information of what the student is excelling at and what they can do to improve as a musician! Students will be assessed on listening and attention, engagement with material, at home practice, listening and theory exercises, and playing! These reports are able to provide a sense of recognition and accomplishment, which encourage the student to continue their efforts!
